What is USC Upstate’s Day of Giving?
The USC Upstate’s Day of Giving is a 24-hour campaign on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, in support of USC Upstate students, colleges, scholarships, athletics, and program for all members of the Upstate community!
With outreach on social media, emails, and online campaigns, Upstate is invested on its annual Day of Giving to raise critical funding throughout the university. Upstate’s Day of Giving is to ensure we continue to build and provide opportunities for our current and future students.
When does USC Upstate’s Day of Giving go live?
Upstate’s Day of Giving will launch on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 12:00 am, EST. and will close at 11:59 pm, EST the same day.
How can I become involved in USC Upstate’s Day of Giving?
Become involved throughout Upstate’s Day of Giving by donating and sharing our Day of Giving page. During the Day of Giving Upstate will utilize various social media platforms to engage the Upstate community to participate and be excited to support USC Upstate and its students. Share with your sphere about why you gave to Upstate.
Why should I support USC Upstate on its Day of Giving?
Each individual's support of Upstate's Day of Giving pushes the university toward the future. Every donation leaves a lasting impact not only on USC Upstate student experiences but also on the colleges and departments on campus. Each college and campus program have a designated Excellence Fund that needs critical support from the Upstate Community.
It is up to you which Excellence Fund you want to support. Upstate’s Day of Giving is a celebration and for alumni and friends of the University to give back to what they’re passionate about.
How do matches and challenges work?
Matches and challenges add a fun competition to Upstate’s Day of Giving!
Challenge gifts have been pledged by generous donors to USC Upstate. Each challenge, once the goal is met, will release an additional donation to the University. Goals can be based on gifts received or the amount of dollars raised.
Matching gifts are dollar-for-dollar donation matches, up to a certain amount. When you make your gift, our matching donors will make an equal gift.

Can my employer match my gift?
YES! Matching programs increase the impact of an individual’s gift. You can make a monthly or one-time gift; the first month’s installment will count towards Upstate’s Day of Giving total.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes, philanthropic contributions to the University of South Carolina Upstate are tax deductible. Please consult your tax adviser with questions about whether your git is tax deductible. Shortly after making your gift to Upstate you will receive an email receipt of your tax-deductible donation.
What should I do if I cannot find my preferred gift designation?
